What does the Virgin Mary and Fried Chicken have in common?
This investigation into the drivers of regional merging of iconographies questions how imagery are propagated and embedded within local context. Through paintings and commercial forms of printing, the Virgin Mary's voyage to the New World embodies similarities to fried chicken joints that sprout from wherever the U.S. military established presence after WW2.
